Nutritional Assessments

Foods are our building blocks- only the chemical elements from foods can rebuild cells and correct defects in cells. The right kinds of foods build tissue, and when a sufficient amount of building has taken place, the body heals itself by virtue of natural laws.

Each one of us is a unique individual based on our genetics and lifestyle. Our nutritional requirements must match our unique biochemical individuality, be precise in quantity and balanced in intake to achieve ideal weight, promote optimal health and improve the way you feel.

A nutritional assessment will include a dietary history and daily food intake questionnaire. Any testing performed is determined case by case. There may be a metabolic type evaluation; or a biochemical laboratory test might be suggested to determine the unique biochemical needs for your body, identifying deficiencies or excesses in terms of vitamin, mineral, essential fats & amino acids. The health of the mucosal membrane may be assessed to reveal absorption strength and integrity of the digestive system lining.

Following assessment, a therapeutic nutritional protocol is created consisting of diet suggestions and supplementation for proper metabolic function. Testing for and avoiding allergenic foods may be necessary.

We can develop a program for the management of weight, diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, Syndrome X, fatigue, menopause, yeast overgrowth, constipation, as well as nutrition for special needs like IBS, food allergy, cancer, gastritis, ADHD and PMS, among others.

Teaching Kitchen
To aid you on the road to better nutrition, we have a teaching kitchen on-site where various practitioners and special guests will educate you on healthy eating. Many classes will be hands-on. Ayurvedic cooking and raw food classes will soon be scheduled so check the website periodically.
